Martyn Bradfield

Martyn’s primary and passionate interest is in making a difference to work health and safety so that everyone stays safe and well every day. In 2005, with co-Director Michael Roberts, Martyn created the SafetyCircle concept and has been its most powerful advocate ever since. Martyn has over 25 years’ experience in occupational health, safety and environment in Tasmania working in manufacturing and heavy industries as well as the Tasmanian Government. Martyn has more than 15 years’ experience consulting in WHS, Occupational Hygiene and Training, providing a broad range of WHS services to organisations across Australia and New Zealand. Martyn also holds Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Oliver Bodak

Oliver commenced with IPM Safety in 2012 and has over 10 years’ experience in the delivery of health, wellness and rehabilitation solutions. Oliver also holds Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. In May 2013 Oliver took over the position of Team Leader (WHS Consulting) at IPM Safety. Working closely with his team, Oliver continues to provide practical Health and Safety solutions to assist all workers to Work Safe – Enjoy Life® and is a fully qualified SafetyCircle Leader.

A farm boy from Tasmania’s sunny east coast, Oliver has had the opportunity to make a positive contribution to safety cultures and systems in workplaces around the world, including the jungles of Papua New Guinea and the Sahara Desert.  Oliver uses his strengths as a facilitator to engage teams in the development of proactive cultures and the supporting systems that enable them to ensure effective and practical management of risk in their workplaces.

Oliver is passionate about working with motivated and ambitious teams that care about what they do and are willing to share their knowledge and be engaged, it is this passion that has seen him return to his home state and the team here at IPM Safety.

Experience

Oliver has 10 years’ experience in work health and safety across Australia, Papua New Guinea and North Africa working in construction, oil and gas, research facilities, agriculture and transport industries to name a few.  Oliver is passionate about working with and supporting diverse workforces and has had some incredible experiences in this regard.  Oliver has a proven track record of assisting teams to see that effective WHS is achievable and supporting them to make choices that will get “Everyone Home Safe and Well Today”.

Ben Brooks

  • Research Fellow and Associate Professor at the Australian Maritime College, University of Tasmania.

Ben is SafetyCircle’s resident safety nerd and research and development specialist. He spent 10 years as a consultant occupational hygienist in Adelaide and the 2 years as a Safety Advisor for the Department of Health and Human Services in Tasmania.  Ben has over 20 years of educational and training experience in Workplace Health and Safety running short courses and post-graduate courses. He has a ph.d. in human factors psychology and safety culture and consults on large WHS cultural transformations. He also holds specialist knowledge on the management of fatigue, on safety management systems, on design approaches to maximise human performance and on how to implement new technologies (including automation) into high risk work environments.
